Afghanistan is a tough place for a rural woman from a poor family to make a living.

The Wealthiest Woman in Afghanistan tells the story of a poor young Afghan girl named Hawa who became the richest woman in the country. Now in her later years, Hawa’s health is declining, and she wants to share what she has learned with a younger generation. She meets with a young writer and shares with him her story full of small nuggets of wisdom, broad insights about human nature, and tips on practical subjects. All these things, seemingly small details combined with her innate drive, have made her successful.

As she divulges her story to the young writer, she is telling the reader about her tactics and attitudes to overcoming obstacles, finding her way around closed doors, and how she created her own style of success. And throughout, Hawa is reflecting on what is truly important to her: her family and her friends, helping others, how she created businesses that will continue to benefit customers and business partners, and the pure knowledge that she played the game of life and succeeded.

Sanaullah Momand was born in 1997 in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He graduated from Abdul Latif High School in 2015 and began studying Public Administration and Policy at Kandahar University and completed his bachelors in 2020.
Now, Momand works as a lecturer in Kandahar University and as a researcher at Malalay Institute of Higher Education. His area of interest is in studying the richest businessmen and women who survive under very tough conditions.
Momand was awarded as one of the most Influential Afghan Youths in 2019 and he is a mentor to thousands of youths.
