JUNIPER is a witty, sci-fi adventure comic book series aimed at children 8-14 years of age, but can be enjoyed by all. Set on the faraway and fantastical planet, Nerth. The story is written by Nathan Tomsic and Georgiana Brown, with illustrations by Lorenzo Colangeli, and published by Scout.
Join 15-year-old Juniper, along with her best friend, Toby the robot, as their carefree lives will soon be changed forever. In search of a new home the due find themselves entangled in a quest that leads them to the desert, fighting off a prickly ancient tribe, befriending a colourful cowboy lizard, and breaking into a booby-trapped tower.
This is a humorous and at times, touching, coming-of-age tale about self-discovery, friendship, and kicking behinds.
Nathan Tomsic (Co-Creator/Writer): Nathan Tomsic is a writer, filmmaker, musician, and one of the co-creators of Juniper. After a journey that led him through the United States, living in a van, he was inspired to write the story of Juniper, as a way to process the beauty of such a trip, and memorialise the lessons learned, and people met along the way.
Georgiana Brown (Co-Creator/Writer): Georgiana Brown is a writer, lyricist, musician, graphic designer, and one of the co-creators of Juniper. Whilst living free in a van around the Aussie beaches she collaborated with her close friend, Nathan, to create the first in a grand series of wondrous and adventure-filled comics, Juniper.
Her love of wise, winding, and intricate tales translated into a love of putting her own whimsical stories to paper to share with others. Georgiana wants nothing more than to add meaning and beauty to the world through every medium she possibly can.
Lorenzo Colangeli (Artist): Lorenzo Colangeli is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer who can probably add home renovations to his list of skills. Working closely with companies such as Disney, he has honed his art for world and character design and was able to flesh many of these creative ideas out during the creation of Juniper.
